[edit] Acer Aspire 1652WLMi

Intel pentium M 740, speedstep working out of the box with 10.4.3, need for ACPICPUthrottle for other versions, ATI Radeon x300 working with koverg's patch for QE and CI, omni's driver for resolution 1280x800, removed mouse tearing using mouse locator, and beam synchro off with the quartz simle program. Intel wireless pro 2200 bg doesn't work so i bought a new mini pci broadcom one... Using Insomniax, so it won't go to sleep. Using new keyboard layout. DVD burner pioneer working flawlessly. USB working well. Dual booting with acronis and also acronis enables usb booting which was not possible with my notebook. What doesn't work: not showing battery status event using modified powermanagment.bundle (no battery detected), PCMCIA, and battery works for about 2 hours and 4 in windows, due to lack of video power savings. When upgrading to 10.4.7, it's going mutch slower. But it's working 2times faster than my xp...

Bold text==Acer Aspire 1692WLMi== Running MacOSX 10.4.7 upgraded from 10.4.4. Installing MacOSX presented no issues whatsoever. What works: A lot of stuff including sound, touchpad, all USBs, DVD+-RW, Ethernet Broadcom 5788 (with AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext patched), Video drivers (ATI Mobility Radeon x700), can watch videos perfectly (DivX, Xvid, WMV). It's really nice having Mac OS X almost fully working now, I have Office, Adium, iLife. What doesn't work: Card Reader, Resolution 1280x800 (really, really a shame), Intel Wifi, Conexant Modem.

  • Core Duo T2300 @ 1,66GHz:

Works natively SSE3. 2Cores Okay.

  • Video Card (NVidia GM950 graphic):

Works natively. 1280x800 Okay. (But no QE)

  • DVD+-R at 8x (HL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-4082N):

Works natively. Okay

  • Network (Broadcom 440x):

Works natively. Okay

  • Webcam:

Not working at all.

  • USB:

You need to flash the BIOS to 2.10 or a greater version. ( Some notebooks came with BIOS updated. Then you don't need to flash. )

  • Battery, you need a fix to show the monitor:

[edit] Acer Ferrari 3400

Specs: Athlon 64 3000+, 512 MB, 80 GB, ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 Using JaS' 10.4.6 Install DVD. Everything works out of the box except: Sound and Battery Meter. Still haven't figured out a fix to the sound (not detected). Battery Meter can be added by following the 10.4.6 install guide. On first run, wifi is already enabled and detects networks. After restarting it vanishes. Do this to fix it: -Open Terminal -Type sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist -Change the line <string>en0</string> to <string>en1</string>. -Change the line <integer>0</integer> to <integer>1</integer>. -Press Ctrl+o, then Enter to save. Ctrl+x to exit. -Reboot -Open Network Preferences. It should detect a new Airport Interface, click Okay. -Click Show > AirPort -Click "Apply Now" Voila.

Video works with QE/CI. Had to force 1400x1050x32 in com.apple.Boot.plist. Note that after doing this, some distortion appears. Mouse flickers slightly, and when windows are moved or scrolled, they're completely distorted. You can make the windows re-appear by minimizing and reshowing them. Also, hitting F9, F10, or F11 twice (transition and back) will not only restore the windows' appearance, but prevent them from getting distorted again until they're closed. DVDR/W/RAM drive can read CDs and DVDs with no issues. Is detected as a burner, but can't burn.

[edit] Acer Travelmate 660/661

Running MacOSX 10.4.6 upgraded from 10.4.5. Installing MacOSX presents no problems. After installation some hardware doesn't work correctly. Needed patches are: ACPIThrottle 1.0 for ACPI power management, edit boot config file for 1280x1024 VESA resolution (no QE/CI possible yet), custom AC97 sound driver, custom PowerManagement bundle to show battery status. AMR Modem and Intel WLAN NOT working, no patches available. Otherwise full functionality.

[edit] Acer Travelmate 3002

Pentium M 740 Chipset, 1.7Ghz with SSE2, 1280 DDR2 Ram

Notes: Using JaS' 10.4.6 Install DVD. Not very successful. Setup was very picky to get up and running due to HDDs partition setup.

Working: Video (External Monitor via VGA Output only); Firewire(External DVD Combo Drve); Bluetooth; USB... Not Working: Audio; Wifi (Intel 2200BG); LAN; Modem; ACPI Battery/Sleep Functions... Not Tested still: DVD Burner, Laptop Function Keys

Perfect installation. no LAN, Modem, Wireless

[edit] Acer Travelmate 2410

Everything works except modem, which is not recognised at all. And sleep

Needs two-wire paperclip dongle for internal display (initially, you need to press Fn-F5 twice during the grey apple-screen, otherwise the picture will be on the external display)

Battery status works with the customised PowerManagement.bundle.

Internal Atheros AR5005g WiFi card works and recognised as an AirPort card after switching the IO80211Family.kext in your System/Library/Extensions folder with one extracted from the "Mac OS X 10.4.5 for Intel" updater from Apple (There was a thread about this on Insanelymac somewhere...)

[edit] Acer Travelmate 292LMi

Working native install using JaS' 10.4.6 Install DVD: USB - mouse + external card reader; FireWire; Network; DVD-Dual drive - burning is working with Toast and DiscBlaze; Sound working but "No information found."

I Used the JaS 10.4.6 OSx86 Install DVD rom, booted up fine, Sound worked great, Touch pad worked (though tap to click diddnt) Both 'mouse' buttons worked fine..

EVERYTHING Worked except the WiFi (to be expected, im looking for a driver for it though), the GFX worked, though there was no 3D acceleration options, and no Quartz Extreme etc...

I did not try the firewire, or the Infra Red, the Cardbus (PCMCIA) was aparently installed and working (System profiler said so atleast) the USB worked, and everything else was fine, even the lan and standard Modem were detected, and worked...

Installed without a hitch, Installed the Intel Patches that were on the JaS DVD, Diddnt need to pre-partition using a BSD Live CD or anything like that, Just partitioned via Disk Manager during isntallation...

Guest comment:During the Custom Install phase, what packages did you install (i.e. the Checkboxes that you've clicked)?

The Intel wireless did not work, but I was able to install a D-Link DWL-G122 USB wireless NIC using the Ralink drivers. Video works flawlessly including res change. Sound did not work out of the box, but I got it working very easily using this small hack.

-Intel Pro Wireless 3945 a/b/g (not working)
-8X DVD+-RW

USB and touchpad are working. Cam and SD card reader are not.
I have some other experiences:
- NVidia GeForce Go 7300 - working (1280x800) with MacVidia driver, although no QE/CI
- On-board Intel High Definition Audio - working with AppleHDA.kext available on forum
- Realtek 8168 - not working. I have contacted Realtek support about this card and they said that they will develop a driver as soon as Apple will use PCI-E bus in their computers.

      • Fixed by RTL1xxx_1.02.pkg. After installation you can use it properly.
Alternatively one can buy a supported USB WIFI card. I bought USB D-Link DWL-G122 which uses Ralinktech RT2571W chip. Drivers are here: http://www.ralinktech.com/drivers/Mac/RT71WUSB-D1.1.4.0%20UI-1.2.8.0_2006_07_07.dmg
Just remember that it's better to input WIFI Shared Key in hexadecimal not ASCII

Boot from LCD screen by pressing FN+F8 during boot sequence.

Do not boot OSX from battery otherwise the UI will be very slow to react.

My particular machine experience short locks everytime I type a special character (using Canadian French keyboard).

[edit] Asus Z63A

Specs: Intel 735 overclocked to 2.26GHz, 1GB PC5400 GSkill DDR2, 120GB Seagate 5400 HD, Intel 915G Graphics, Atheros AR5212A B/G Wireless, Marvel Yukon GB Network.

Using JaS' 10.4.6 Install DVD.

You must use the exteral VGA short or the DVD will not boot. I used a trimed down paperclip to short pins 2 and 12 on the external VGA connector (http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=14902&hl=paper+clip). The installation works perfectly most onboard devices are detected and work right out of the box. This includes the LCD screen, keyboard (widows key and alt key need to be switched), and trackpad. The built in Marvel networking card is now supported with this driver (http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=15700). ACPI support for the battery and battery mode can be found here (http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=14912&st=0). The LCD brightness function keys work, volume keys do not, others have not been tested. As i only have a Z63A i was unable to test Bluetooth support. Speedstep is still not working but they will get it soon :)

Installation process goes through without an issue. Once at desktop install Callisto's b03 (found here), edit the ATIRadeon9700.kext with the device id 4e50 (there's two places where the 9700 id appears) and replace IONDRVFramebuffer <string> value with CallistoFB. Before rebooting install the newest AGPGart from joblo10 (found here), delete extensions.mkext and extensions.kextcache, repair permissions and restart. All resolutions and QE/CI functional after these actions. Thereafter to deal with the mouse tearing I suggest using Mouse Locator (details here). USB 2.0 fixed via these steps.

Installation with 10.4.6 iso was fine. Wireless works if you download the os x drivers from RAlink's website and install them. You might have to install the drivers by making the Installer program run via rosetta. Did not think it would be that simple. Sound works after changing settings in Audio MIDI setup (left speaker only). Volume controls do work. Use the pinxue rhine driver to get wired ethernet working. To get USB fully working, download IOUSBFamily-256.4.2(Intel)-log.dmg from the apple developer website. Make sure to get the correct matched version. Everything looking pretty good except for the video currently.

ATI XPRESS 200M: Callisto drivers resulted in blank screen. Could not get any resolution other than 1024x768. Touchpad/keyboard: Would only work with IOUSBFamily.kext completely removed (no USB at all). Conexant AMC Sound: Could not get to work (audio family drivers depend on USB, apparently). Wireless: The system ran incredibly incredibly slow unless wireless was disabled in the BIOS (MiniPCI, perhaps?) so that was a no go. Realtek 8139 NIC: Worked fine.

The system ran and with decent performance. Without CI/QE and a working video driver the display performance left a lot to be desired. Without wireless and sound, however, I'd be hard pressed to call the install a success. FUck mother!!!!!

OSx86 10.4.6 Native with Multiboot Boot to Windows XP Pro. Install windows first and the OS selector. Then boot to OSx86 DVD. Not very hard.

Had problems with the first install becuase I couldn't see what I was doing, the picture was all messed up. If you are having this problem go into your BIOS and switch the video memory from 1MB to 8MB. If you are unable to do this then it is time to update your BIOS.
Took a while to figure out how to get the sound working. Search in Google for Sigmatel osx86, found insructions in the Forum that way. Ethernet was working already. Video worked as soon as I switched to 8MB in the BIOS. CD/DVD drive worked without a mod.

Pentium M 1.5GHz, ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 (dev 4c66 -- use Compaqx1000.zip for AGP), Sigmatel 9750, 512m DDR ram, swapped 2200 for Broadcom wireless. Installed JaS 10.4.6 and .7; everything works: 2d acceleration, multiple resolutions, wireless, sound, once AGP is activated 2d graphic acceleration and PCMCIA card slot become active. Update powermanagement.bundle for battery meter. Solid system, 2d accel is quite smooth on this platform, including full screen video playback support. xbench is respectable considering my slow hardware, 44.56.

[edit] Dell Inspiron 2200

Celeron 1.8, Intel GMA900. Installed from Jas 10.4.6 DVD to internal drive as only OS. In the patches section, only selected the 10.4.6 combo update, SSE2, Wireless, and GMA900 drivers. Reboot and things ran very well.
Wireless: Working perfectly
Sound: Works, even volume up and down keys on keyboard. (Didn't work if I selected any of the sound options in the patches during installation, had to turn them all off.)
Video: Works with the paperclip trick. Had to install GMA900pkg.dmg from http://art5dog.com/GMA900pkg.dmg to get QE and CI working. Password for the dmg is "good1time".
USB2: Works fine. Tested with iPod.
Battery: Need to install this patch to get battery meter to show.
Sleep Mode: Goes to sleep fine. Waking up is a problem. Sometimes it displays the second monitor on the main screen so I can't see anything. Sometimes it wakes up but the track pad is unusable, makes the cursor move very fast and jerky.

All up a very usable system. Thanks to Sarah for letting me commandeer her laptop. :)

Added battery indicator support. Not able to change screen resolution, have not yet found compatible drivers, but otherwise nearly 100% working.

[edit] Dell Inspiron 6000

Pentium M 1.6gHz, Intel 915 video, Intel 2200bg wireless. No wirless but everything else is working fine with the clean install of Jas' 10.4.6 release (with the exception of the external monitor problem...). I applied the Intel patches during installation and have QE and CI working too. The wireless patch didn't do the trick for the 2200bg.

USER 2:Used 10.4.6 JaS Installation - Broadcom NIC detected as 'Built-In Ethernet' and works fine. I had to do use the Callisto drivers for the Radeon Mobility X300 to work, still don't have QE/CI though, and when I did the other common video patch to enable them - I got the trippy acidic screen with blocks. The things that aren't functioning: Built In SD Card Reader / Dell 2915ABG Wifi. I haven't tried a PCMCIA card yet, so I'm unsure if the slots work.

Note to USER 2: I had the same problem with trippy graphics so I copied over the drivers and OpenGL frameworks from 10.4.5/10.4.5 and it worked, but any App that used Quartz/Core seemed to be very unstable and crash. I ended up using Callisto with the koverg patch and 10.4.4 and it is solid as a rock, despite mouse tearing or flickering. Sound is also very loud, but not clipping (which is how I like it :)

USER 3: Pentium M 1.6GHz, ATi Mobility X300 graphics, Intel 2200bg wireless. All the essentials working perfectly (although stuck at 1024x768 screen res and too much of a newbie to get it to 1280x800) Using JaS' 10.4.7 clean install. Took about 20 minutes to get my disk to boot Windows again but otherwise all good. One annoyance I have is that sometimes the system will freeze up and I have to reboot. Also I can't get iTunes 7 to work as it keeps throwing up a "Not enough memory" error which im still trying to fix.

USER 4: Pentium M 1.6@2.13Ghz (pin-mod), 1Go RAM, Intel 915 video, 2200BG, WSXGA+. Using Hotiso image, all (but 2200bg) work fine, I'm using Wi-Fi by an Asus WL-167G USB stick. I've made the "VGA 2 wires" mod in order to boot the installation and the OS without using an external monitor. After download of a french pc keyboard layout, I can type special characters ; the screen goes automatically at 1680*1050 after installation and effects are very nice and fast. Dual boot with Windows XP, using Acronis Disk Manager. - Excuse me for my bad english -

USER 5: - If there is a hard drive or administrator password on your Inspiron 6000, beware! MacOS 10.4.6 will not install unless you remove these passwords. The hard drive also shows up as SATA; does not mean anything as long the partition shows up. UBMICRO FOREVER

USER 6: - Pentium M 2.0, 1GB RAM, ATI Mobility X300 128MB, WXGA LCD. Graphics working in 1280x800 with Callisto 003 (008 gives a white screen on bootup). QE/CI working by patching ATIRadeon9700.kext and ATIRadeon9700GA.kext, but with the usual mouse trails. Sound and Bluetooth are natively supported. Devices not working are the internal modem (Conexant D110), wireless LAN (Intel 2915ABG), and the SDIO controller. The PCMCIA slot works to the point that the System Profiler will detect my TV tuner card, but there's no support for it. Therefore a supported card should work. .

USER 7: - Intel Centrino 1.67GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon M24 128MB, 2200BG and SigMatel Audio. Everything seems to be working so far except the resolution (stuck at 1024x768) and the wireless. I managed to get CI/QE to work, and still looking for OpenGL drivers, but I tried multiple methods of changing the resolution, all resulting in 1024x768 (mine supports 1280x800). Also, I'm still looking for 2200BG drivers, but the sound works perfectly after installing the SigMatel drivers from the 10.4.8 JaS DVD. (Edit: I've got the wireless working now, but I can't connect to any networks, I can only see them. Any advice?)

Mobile Pentium 4 2.6GHz, ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 32MB, Atheros 5002G mPCI, Dell Bluetooth 350. 10.4.6 Myz + JaS 10.4.7 update. To get full 1680x1050x32 resolution use callisto 003. Anything above that gave me major video issues. Currently triple-booting XP, OSX86, and Fedora Core 5. Installed in that order using Grub as a boot loader. Everything works perfectly.

[edit] Dell Latitude D505

Pentium M 1.6GHz (400MHz FSB), 855GM, Intel 2200BG

Finally found a way that works (without deleting kexts to boot)...

Installed with "Mac OS X 10.4.6 x86 Install DVD (JaS)" from TPB - file name was "10.4.6.install.dvd.iso" and it has an md5sum of "5c88e09705ebde2baf1bf19832bdd37a". It has a file size of "4.38 GiB (4698669056 Bytes)".

You need to go into the bios BEFORE you install and disable "Video expansion" on the 4th page. Do normal install and set partition to active if needed (I didn't have too). Do NOT install SSE3 - but do install 10.4.6 upgrade. Boot once into Mac normally before re-enabling the "Video Expansion" in the bios. On my D505 with this image, firewire, sound and bluetooth is working by default. Wifi and battery must be added...

Get working wifi drivers here: http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ (and donate something to this guy for being cool enough to write these drivers;)

Get the battery going here: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=14912

Cheers and good luck!

Intel Centrino M 1.4 GHz, 512 MB RAM, Sigmatel Audio 9750

Installed with the :Mac OS X 10.4.6 x86 DVD (JaS)" Went into the BIOS and disabled the Video Expansion and then re-enabled after install. Wireless: Working Audio: Not Working B0 error upon startup, working on solution currently

Installed with 10.4.4 Myzar ISO, updated to 10.4.6 using Myzar updater. Again, problems with IOFireWire kexts so needed boot via USB on another machine to remove. Everything works as per 10.4.5: No CI or QE, no wireless. Sound.

Fresh install using 10.4.6 JaS ISO. Install fine, needs IOFireWire* kexts removing - boot again from install DVD, choose Utilities, Terminal. cd to /Volumes/DISKNAME/System/Library/Extensions.

With this installer it seems as though the PCCard bus has been broken. Using Pacifist to reinstall IOPCIFamily from Essentials.pkg fixes the card slot.

Netgear WG511T is no longer detected OOB. Need to use IO8011*Networking.kext from 10.4.5, then chmod -R 755 and chown -R root:wheel. *Must be done*, repairing disk permissions isn't enough. . . . . . . .

[edit] Dell Latitude D600

Intel Pentium M Processor 745 (1.80 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache), ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 graphics engine with 32MB of DDR memory, AC97 (Soft Audio) / ICH3, 768Mb memory

Installed JaS 10.4.6.install.dvd.iso. Sound, video, keyboard, mouse, and USB all working. Built-in LAN works if you follow the directions at http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=8162&pid=73971&mode=threaded&show=&st=0&#entry73971. Wireless will work by following the instructions at http://forum.osx86project.org/lofiversion/index.php/t8522.html. The driver (IO80211Family.kext) is already included in the distribution, so it was a simple process of editing files per the instructions.

ATI support for 1280x1024x32 can be had by editing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and adding the following two lines:

    <key>Graphics Mode</key>
    <string>1280×1024×32</string>

You can edit this file using sudo and vi without having to then repair permissions.

A higher resolution of 1400x1050 can be had by changing the line in com.apple.Boot.plist to "1400x1050x32", deleting all ATI directories in /System/Library/Extensions, and deleting the files Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache in /System/Library. Finally, run

    $ sudo kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/

Battery meter works by following the instructions at http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=2237&hl=d600.

Intel Pentium M Processor (1.40 GHz, NO PAE), ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 graphics engine with 32MB of DDR memory, AC97 (Soft Audio) / ICH3, 768Mb memory

Installed JaS 10.4.6.install.dvd.iso. Works. Although no PAE is available. Wireless (Intel PRO 2100) does not work.

Same configuration as above but True Mobile 1400 Wireless. True Mobile 1400 works as AirPort; Changing Display-resolution to 1400x1050 works if ATI*.kexts are removed from /System/Libraries/Extensions.

Installed HotISO 10.4.6 install dvd. Selected Intel Combo Update, SSE2, wireless support, mobility radeon. Don't select audio piece. Sounds works without it and when I did select it, I got errors. Got nic and wireless Dell true mobile working successfully. changed display, but no acceleration on video. can't launch dvd player or install imovie, or idvd.

[edit] Dell Latitude D610

So far I have everything working but Infrared, modem, battery indicator and ethernet. Wireless works with some patching. Still trying to patch ethernet.

Installation instructions:

  1. Make space for OS X (Partition Magic, Acronis, etc...)
  2. Boot off of OS X DVD (plug in a monitor or dongle or you'll get stuck on blue screen, also make sure you have a DVD drive. Mine didn't at first.)
  3. Install OS X with the following "Customize" patches
    1. 1.4.6 Combo update
    2. intel.sse2
    3. GMA900
    4. Radeon Mobility
    5. Wireless
    6. VIA.Sata.ATA
  4. Reboot
  5. Ethernet (Broadcom 5751) can be enabled using this patch but Mac address will be all 0's and this driver causes machine to crash when sleeping.
  6. Wireless (Broadcom 4319) can be enabled using this method. Just edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist, the other patch is not necesary.
  7. Battery icon can be enabled using this patch but it doesn't appear to update after booting.

Note: Plug in external monitor or dongle when booting or you'll get stuck on the blue screen.

Also Note: You can get back to windows using the Darwing boot loader. Press F8 after the bios screen.

[edit] Dell Latitude D810 & D800

Out of the box: Audio, video at 1600x1200 (minor aspect ratio mismatch), keyboard, trackpad, trackpoint. Not working: onboard ethernet (after binary edits, still can't set macaddr via ifconfig. Hangs the machine.), wireless (Intel BG2200 story), sleep.

Zubi_won Says:

Dell D800 with Jas 10.4.6 same as above but I got sound working out of the box as well. Battery indicator can be found here (works on many laptops): http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=14912

Also got onboard nic working by using the notes here: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=8162&pid=73971&mode=threaded&show=&st=0&#entry73971

And full 1680x1050x32 video support from macvidia driver here: http://macvidia.starchaser.org/

There is also a cool widgit there that will show you your current driver on your system and the driver that is currently availble on-line: http://macvidia.starchaser.org/boards/macvidia-driver/218-macvidia-widget.html

[edit] Dell Latitude D620

Intel Pentium Centrino Duo - (2 ghz), Nvidia Quadro GFX (have not tried patching, but built in res works natively on laptop), Bluetooth (found during regular install), On board ethernet / Intel Wifi both not working. Dell Wireless wifi (Broadcom) works but must follow 2nd part of instructions instructions for Dell Latitude D600 (see above). Also, found that hitting F8 when booting and hitting enter once seems to allow boot. Otherwise it fails sometimes. If you shutoff one core in the bios it will work. Then you can edit the boot file to have only one core boot after which you can reenable both cores in the bios. Looks great though! As of 8/4/2006, audio (Sigmatel) does not work but driver is being written (check forum).

No problems installing straight from HotISO disk or Jas disk (10.4.6).

... note from another person: I had an intel wifi card on my d620 w/ nvidia card... intel of course isnt working.

D620s ship with Intel for WiFi and Broadcom for wired ethernet. I have not tried it but I would think the tweaks for getting ethernet to work on the Dell Optiplex GX620 would also work on the D620. I believe the chipset is the same.

12/26/06 Dell 620 with Dell branded broadcom wireless works out of the box with HotISO!

[edit] Dell Latitude D820

Tried with OS X 10.4.6 (HotISO image), with SSE3 and update. Attention, if you select other extra packages (like wireless), the computer may stay idle after the boot. Also, it seems to be a problem with the dual-core, as mentioned for the previous description, you have to press F8 when booting, and simply press Enter. Otherwise, you might be experiencing numerous "you have to reboot your computer" when booting.

Intel Centrino Duo T2300 (1,66 GHz), Intel GMA 950 (native resolution, but poor or inexistant acceleration on Aqua), Bluetooth (working after install). Wi-Fi & built-in Gigabit Ethernet NIC won't work. Sound doesn't work too.

Haven't tried yet some patches, need some investigations ;)

It is running on my Dell D820, found some more bugs: - the time isn't correct (always two houres behind) if you adjust it, it will but the time wrong in XP. There is no @ key :(and it seems to work better in single core ? If someone finds a way to change the sound problem, please post it... This is a major bug for me. I need sound !

Does work: - MacVidia1.0.8.pkg.zip works great ! Screen resolution: 1920 - 1200. The CD / DVDr works fine.

Cheers !

[edit] Dell Precision M60

Intel Pentium M (1.7GHz), Nvidia Quadro GFX (MacVidia driver stuff gives resolutions), ACPI patch for battery, using a patched driver for Networking and WLAN (YES, IT WORKS like a charm !!! ;) Everything else worked out of the box. even Volume buttons.

So the only thing not wokring is CI and QE and LDC switchoff / sleep / standby.

[edit] Dell XPS m1210

XPS M1210, 80gb SATA HDD, T2300 Duo, Intel wireless, webcam, GMA950.

Installed JaS 10.4.6 and 10.4.7.

Boots, no external monitor needed. QE & CI enabled. Only one core.

Battery indicator (percent and time) with PowerManagement.bundle patch. GMA 950 (8086, 27A2), DVD burner, Intel SATA, 1280x800 res, external monitors, broadcom 440x 10/100 all OK.

Two-finger scrolling works well with FFScrollPS2-0.1.RC1 patch, but I had to edit the trackpad sensitivity down to 0 in ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist (under com.apple.trackpad.scaling), I still haven't found a perfect value--scrolling works great but actual tracking is still a tad jumpy (i.e. hold your finger still the mouse cursor jitters like its had too much coffee); I'll update here if I find a good solution.

Hardware not working: Intel 3945 (I replaced with a $15 Dell 1390, 100% compatible), Sigmatel 9220 (audio through Headphone jack #1 only, internal speakers non functional), Ricoh card reader.

Webcam not recognized, tried a few OS X USB webcam drivers but nothing yet. Windows recognizes as a standard Logitech USB webcam, so there might be hope for this; not a priority for me.

[edit] Dell XPS m140

Intel Pentium M Processor 745 (1.86 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) CI and QE work with an external monitor connected. USB Bluetooth work fine. Still no Audio (Has HD Audio in the XP land) and wifi.

Installed JaS 10.4.6.install.dvd.iso

Installed JaS 10.4.6 with wireless, SSE2 and SSE3 patches; video requires procedure detailed here and battery/power management requires this bundle. Audio still doesn't work.

[edit] Dell XPS m140 (aka Inspiron 630m)

Boot only when an external monitor is connected (with CI and QE). I've replaced my wifi miniPCI card with a dell truemobile 1450 and wifi works now (without any hack). Sigmatel audio is recognized (i've the sound icon in the top left border) but no sound at all... USB, ethernet , firewire, keyboard, touchpad and multimedia keys works fine. The memory card reader doesn't works. The works.

I've obtained Power saving and battery level with a hack

Installed version is a patched 10.4.6 with GMA900, sigmatel audio and wireless patch

When trying to boot with my Jas 10.4.6 Install DVD, for some reason the computer wanted to do a network install. I installed with VMWare to my second partition, it worked great after that, and now I dual boot using Acronis. This laptop was hard to configure and install to, but once you get everything working, it is worth it!
