This is a component level hardware compatibility list. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying hardware. Add which parts you have working in the categories listed below, or create a new category. Please keep alphabetical order inside the categories. The categories themselves are ordered by popularity. Please list any caveats or problems as well.

  • BIOS version: 14
  • Installation method: Leo4all v2 (10.5.2) with Vanilla Kernel 9.2.2
  • Audio (ALC 883): 2ch only so far. Works with Azalia patch from skippyretard. Tried the 883 kexts from Leo4all v2 install, latest Taruga's 5.1 kext (April 24th, 2008) and skippyretard's 883 pkg with no luck. Linux reconizes ALC883 OK. Maybe the guy up here with an ALC888 has a different mobo revision.
  • Video (GMA 950): Works with GMA950 driver from the Leo4all install DVD. QE/CI enabled and no artifacts. Resolution fixed at 1024x768, I changed it editing com.apple.Boot.plist adding <string>"Graphics Mode"="1280x1024@85"</string>. There is some minor mouse blinking when moving over the dock, hardly noticeable.
  • LAN: Works out of the box

  • ACPI: Restart & Shutdown works fine so far.
  • PROs: Very cheap and compatible.
  • CONs: NOT an overclocker motherboard, FSB is locked in the Bios.

  • Shutdown works, restart doesn't, Unsure about sleep.
  • There is no support currently for the x1250 integrated graphics.
  • PRO:'s Cheap Mobo good features looks amazing and is M-Atx. Overclocks well.
  • CON:'s No integrated Graphics but I am using an ATi 3850 HD Card with full QE/CI so no real loss overall its a great little board!

  • Optical Drive: BenQ DW1625. During the 15 odd times I booted from the DVD to install, after the first 6 or 7 times, the installer started saying that it could not read from the disc. This was happening when it normally would check the media for errors. So, I re-burned a new disc using the same drive of the same ISO(which I had initially created from the original (now problematic) disk). The new disc worked. Maybe, just a very fragile disc. But, weird.
  • Shutdown and reboot works. Sleep gives a blank (black), unresponsive screen. Have to hard reset.
  • Had to run the installation, with the same options, multiple times for it to get it right. After a few installs, I was getting the gray screen asking me to restart the computer. I really don't know how I got around that problem. I just installed again without changing any options. Finally, when it worked, I had my ethernet cable unplugged. In the Customize list, I had chosen the nforce chipset 2/3/4/5 kext, AC '97, forcedeth, nvidia geforce 10.5.2 and nvinject 128 MB for my 6600GT graphics card. Name of volume: Leopard. I chose the EFI v8 plus MBR bootloader to make the "Leopard" volume bootable. I'm using grub to choose between my various OSes. SSE3 9.2.0 TOH Kernel chosen from the Customize list.

Don't know. Installed using MBR. You might have to slightly increase voltage on your memory with this board in BIOS and turn bios protect off. I could not install Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD at first and got an error "Could not validate Base Install". After upping my memory voltage by .20 and turning BIOS protect off it worked fine. Depends on memory probably.

Added: In my case, somehow installation of Modbin's package did not does the job.
