System configuration:
- Intel Core I5 2500K
- Chipset Intel Z68
- Asus 6870 DC 1GB
- Single Display
- Audio Works with kext
- Network Works with kext
|
Installation method:
- iAtkos L2 with MyHack chameleon boot only Selected ( + Extra won't work ) leave all at defaults
- < WORKED BUT WITH FLAWS> Download latest VoodooHDA 2.7.2 and work
- < UPDATED : WORKING SOUND WITH MIC & SPEAKERS - NO RANDOM KP >
- Using MultiBeast 4.2.1 for LiON install EasyBeast and ALC8xxxHDA, AppleHDA Rolled Back, ALC889 Enabler ( must be 889, other won't work )
- After installed it, USB will NOT WORK, must extract IOUSB file from Lion installer package and cp - r IOUSB*.* /Volumes/Your OSX Disk/System/Library/Extensions,
copy to it, since I booting by iATKOS DVD itself, no command required and it just worked !
Audio work like a charm now, both Micro and Output works, no kernel panic so far ( if installed only rolled back HDA, ALC, will get insta restart, EASY BEAST is a must for me ).
- Shutdown/Reboot work
- Network Card working from Stuffs of this good man : Network [12], or Intel Gigabit network card come along inside MultiBeast package
- Note : I 'm not using his hacked BIOS and still install well with MyHack Chameleon (boot only) + iATKOS L2.
- Make PLL Voltages disabled in MainBoard and things should be fine ( got kernel panic if PLL Voltage on sometime )
- My CPU is i5 2500k and I just leave it X.M.P Mode in AI Tweaker, CPU Auto ( not restrict ratio needed ilke i7 2600K - still working ).
- 6870 works OOB with full Resolution 1920x1080, QE/CI ( chess played well )
- Monitor : Asus VS238H monitor
Conclusion : All working after installation with iATKOS L2 + myHack Chameleon, just Audio (Voodoo HDA 2.7.2) and Network (AppleIntelE1000.kext),
Mic won't work with current setup, looking around of r fixes ( Fixes found using EasyBeast + ALC889 + HDA rollBack + ALC8xxxHDA ).

For more kexts I found some when unpacked the P8P67 Pro Install Package (the motherboards are basically the same, google the file name).
Be careful installing this over iAtkos though, a boot loader failure may happen.
Like I said, instead just unpack the installer and install the kexts needed (some for ATI-graphics for example).

Kexts
Installed with iAtkos L2
Options in installer:
- Just the basics
- USB 2.0/3.0
- Graphics enabler
- Wifi if you got it etc
Additional kexts after install (Installed using Kext Wizard)
- Sound: AppleHDA and ALC892HDA51B
- Graphics: Nvdia GTX 570
Installed ATY_Init first with Kext Wizard, then ran GTX Enabler from netkas. Only choose option 1 (I have heard that it is better to install ATY_Init seperately)
Also installed the Cuda driver after that.
You may have to repair permissions and rebuild cache if your system fails to boot up again after this. Do this with Kext Wizard.

- LAN: Realtek® 8111F

|
Installation method:
Using iAtkos L2 from a flash drive:
1. Formatted the flash drive (8 GB) to Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) [used Master Boot Record]
2. Dragged the iAtkos L2 DMG to Disk Utility, mounted it and restored it to the newly created partition of the flash drive.
3. Ran the Chameleon installer and installed it to the flash drive.
4. Set HDD as AHCI instead of IDE in Advanced Setup in the BIOS (UEFI) and enabled VT-x as well
5. Switched the GPU from PCIe to iGPU (due to the GPU being a Radeon HD 6xxx series)
6. Booted from the flash drive with the -f argument to make it start.
7. Formatted a partition as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) in Disk Utility and selected the following customizations:
- Bootloader: Chameleon 2.1
- Bootloader options: Graphics Enabler, Built-in Ethernet
- Patches: FakeSMC, Disabler, RTC, EvoReboot, IOPCIFamily (optional)
- Drivers:
SATA/IDE: AHCI SATA, Non-AHCI SATA;
Sound: VoodooHDA 2.2 (will be updated later)
USB: USB
Hardware Sensors: CPU, Motherboard, ATI VGA Cards
Network: Realtek RTL8111/8168B
8. Upon reboot, I accessed the Advanced Setup in BIOS and switched the GPU to PCIe.
9. Started the system without flags (although, you may try -v if it doesn't work the first time)
10. After set-up system everything* fully working.
-Sleep almost working (you just need to press the power on key to wake it up)
You also need to get and run the latest VoodooHDA installer and reboot with the -f flag once.
Then reboot normally to confirm it working.
Note: Go to System Preferences, Sound, Output and switch it to Line-Out (Green Rear) to hear sounds if you're not using digital-out.
Can be updated to 10.7.5 if you run the updater and when it's about to ask you to reboot,
don't do it, but run the 10.7.5 fixer.
When it's done, then press Reboot and it should work just fine.

Note:
Needed to add ncpi=0x2000 to Kernel Flags (/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist) after installing the ComboUpdate. Don't know if it is also used on 10.7.0 and was set by the UniBeast bootloader by default. The install worked without adding any kernel flag. Audio does not work out of the box and not with Drivers & Bootloaders/Kext & Enablers/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Non-DSDT HDAEnabler/ALC887-888b. Since I'm using an usb interface, I did ? the others. Someone might add an info to this entry.

- While running iatkos L2 or Snow leopard
- How to create a Lion recovery installer partition at least with my setup this assumes you have snow leopard or lion already installed if not talk to google this will probably work on other boards or USB sticks as well:
- 1. Format a partition to 6gb or more mac os extended (journaled)
- 2. Erase that partition if there is any old data it will not work
- 3. Use xmove to install your 10.7.0 lion app to your partition if it fails mount installESD.dmg and yes it may say a ridiculous time (30min or more) just be patient it will install eventually the timer lies
- 4. While using lion or snow leopard use multi beast lion edition to install mac pro 3,1 smbios and user dsdt with your DSDT.aml on your desktop I also installed some other options in multi beast such as what gordo74 said on page 1 but not smbios 5,1 it will not work.
- 5. If you need MBR which I did since I multi boot patch your installer partition with nawcom's mbr patch
- 6. Reboot and I used these boot flags to get into the installer since I have a quad core cpus=1 -x you can add these to your org.chameleon.boot.plist kernel flags also to make it more seamless
- Install Lion on you mbr partition
- Once lion is installed and before you reboot install combo update 10.7.2 after that follow gordo74's guide to install multi beast lion edition now use smbios 5,1 mac mini as it states in gordo74's guide. IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THIS LAST STEP TO A T YOU WILL HAVE MAJOR ISSUES WITH YOUR INSTALL!
- [38]
- [39]
- The key to dsdt on this board is to use smbios for a mac mini

- <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
- <string>Yes</string>
