HCL 10.7.5/Desktops

OS X 10.7.5
Hardware Compatibility

This is a hardware compatibility list ONLY for OEM desktop computers. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying a desktop. Don't forget to add how you got OSx86 running on your x86 desktop computer, and to use proper English. Please see the discussion page for proper instructions on how to input your system specs. Also, please contribute to the HCL 10.7.5 page, which should list a more granular view of compatibility. If your computer isn't listed, you should try it if you have a SSE2 or higher processor. Use vanilla kernel if it is supported.

  • ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work.
  • Please add hardware into tables.
  • This is for 10.7.5 builds only.

Please list your computers in alphabetical order by manufacturer (Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, etc)

For how to edit the Wiki, please see this thread. Thank you!

Note: Please add whether your device supports QE, Quartz Extreme, graphics. Try playing a movie with Quicktime Player.
Note: For suggestions about table headings, please join the discussion here.

[edit] Acer Veriton Workstations

Hardware Name Chipset Notes Patches Used 32/64bit working with patches
Veriton X4620G
  • Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G870 @ 3.10GHz (LGA1155)
  • Intel Panther Point B75, Intel Sandy Bridge / Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller
  • Intel Sandy Bridge-DT - Integrated Graphics Controller - Intel HD 2000 Graphics
  • used iAtkos L2 (10.7.2) for install - by restoring on a flash drive and afterwards installing on the flash Chameleon !!! patched for intel HD 3000 Graphics - and after booting use Chameleon for installing as bootloader (from the list of drivers)
  • Ethernet didn't find the kext, but could be there, (Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5761 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller - on Board) - not working at the moment
  • The sound - working from the box (Realtek ALC662 - on Board) with the kext- Voodoo Hd 2.7.2 (kext from iAtkos) - although the first time, and then only at boot time it will be a nasty noise from the speakers - solved by reducing to zero the INPUT/microphone input in System Pref.
  • USB3 - working the front and the rear (kext from iAtkos)
  • USB2 - working the front and the rear out of the box
  • the video is working out of the box (due to chameleon), the resolution is ok (FullHD - 1920x1080) BUT there is NO acceleration/ the QE is not working - no video editing/playing (and as I understand at this moment that it will never be for intel hd 2000 from CPUs (need a processor with intel HD3000 for that))
  • for a workstation / office work / listening to music and browsing the net (with the exception of FLASH) - it's ok - if installing a video card nvidia/ati radeon - could get the workstation more functionality
  • truth be told I didn't installed yet the official updates from apple, but updating from 10.7.2 till 10.7.5 shouldn't be a problem
  • Voodoo Hd 2.7.2 (kext from iAtkos)

  • HDD - SATA - 320 GB (dual boot with windows 7 32bit home premium)
  • Network : Onboard Intel
  • Sound : Onboard Intel - use VOODOOHDA.kext20
  • Graphics : Onboard(GMA X3000) didnt work (even with thestevo's kext) so installed Asus En210 1GB DDR3 (FULL QE/CI WITH GRAPHIC ACCELERATION) kext from osx86.net and drivers from nvidia website
  • DVD & CARD READER : onboard
  • Creative Webcam : Live Sync - OOB
  • Bluetooth : Default by DELL , also tested belkin usb bluetooh - both working
  • Use DSDT
  • All devices work without any tweak. Kexts are easily available. No efi strings required.
  • Please note that my first HDD was not being detected directly so I installed by making it usb readable (use any sata casing)

But if you add right kexts (sata controllers) to your installer in advance then it detects directly.

  • Sleep works only with Sleepenabler.kext .................just google it
