HCL 10.9.1/Desktops

OS X 10.9.1
Hardware Compatibility

This is a hardware compatibility list ONLY for OEM desktop computers. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying a desktop. Don't forget to add how you got OSx86 running on your x86 desktop computer, and to use proper English. Please see the discussion page for proper instructions on how to input your system specs. Also, please contribute to the HCL 10.9.1 page, which should list a more granular view of compatibility. If your computer isn't listed, you should try it if you have a SSE2 or higher processor. Use vanilla kernel if it is supported.

  • ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work.
  • Please add hardware into tables.
  • This is for 10.9.1 builds only.

Please list your computers in alphabetical order by manufacturer (Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, etc)

For how to edit the Wiki, please see this thread. Thank you!

Note: Please add whether your device supports QE, Quartz Extreme, graphics. Try playing a movie with Quicktime Player.
Note: For suggestions about table headings, please join the discussion here.

Removed the PCI card 802.11 b/g wireless and 56k WinModem. Modem and wireless card may be able to get them working but not needed.
  • Graphics : Removed original Geforce 7350LE but can be used with NVEnabler64.kext set GraphicsEnabler=No in root/extra/org.Chameleon.boot.plist . Used Galaxy Nvidia Geforce GT 640 works out of the box set GraphicsEnabler=No in root/extra/org.Chameleon.boot.plist . Add kernel flags PCIRootUID=1 and npci=0x2000 or machine will only boot in safe mode.
  • Installation Instructions : Make Bootable USB drive 8Gb or larger with downloaded copy of Mavericks from app store (The app must be in the application folder) add post installation tools and needed kext to USB drive once made. Set bios to AHCI mode and boot priority to USB drive to the top of the list. Boot the machine up and before selecting install add the boot flags -x GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000 and hit enter follow on screen installation instructions. Add kernel flags PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000 to root/extra/org.Chameleon.boot.plist with text edit and change GraphicsEnabler to No then restart and the machine should boot own its own normally. Everything will work except the TV tuner card, wifi, and 56k Modem. Be sure to only have one HDD connected during installation you can reconnect them when done. You will have a few problems with the App store this can be repaired following the guides on google search for app store fix hackintosh. Sleep wake will not work you must set the sleep wake in system preferences to never once all is done the displays can sleep though they wake with the keyboard only though.
