HCL 10.6.0
|
This is a component level hardware compatibility list. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying hardware. Add which parts you have working in the categories listed below, or create a new category. Please keep alphabetical order inside the categories. The categories themselves are ordered by popularity. Please list any caveats or problems as well.
- ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work.
- Please add hardware into tables.
- This is for 10.6.0 builds only.
For how to edit the Wiki, please see this thread. Thank you!

Installed retail DVD using Empire EFI 1.85 r2 to boot the DVD. (Required GraphicsEnabler=Y PciRoot=1 options to Empire EFI). Created a patched dsdt (following guide at [86]) using an ubuntu live CD which I then added to a Chameleon rc4 USB stick (also using GraphicsEnabler=Y PciRoot=1) -- the dsdt got rid of the "bios settings cleared on reboot" issue and enabled native power management. I'm using the vanilla 32-bit kernel (I'm using a D-Link DWA 556 card, which requires a 32-bit kernel). Update to 10.6.2 worked OOB.
|
Yes | No, patched my dsdt, used fakesmc 2.5, OpenHaltRestart (for reboot -- shutdown and native power management work with my modified dsdt) |
Gigabyte GA H55M-S2
Installed using Kakewalk 3.1 USB. (Select GA H55M-S2V Motherboard.)
No bootlag required. After Snow Leopard Installaion, boot with Kakewalk USB, select to boot with Snow Leopard HD for 2 times, ( can;t find kakewalk kernel)then select to boot with Kakewalk USB, system will boot into SL smoothly.
Download GA H55M-S2 DSDT.aml from tonymacx86, put it on desktop with rename DSDT.aml. Run Multibeast and select User DSDT, System Utilities. Then Reboot.(if fail to boot, try boot from kakewalk USB and select boot from SL HD for 2 or 3 times(can't find kakewalk kernel), after that select Boot from kakewalk USB.
Open up Multibeast, Run 10.6.8 Combo Update, after apdate, do not restart, choose muitibeast and Install System Utilities, AppleHDA Rollback, 3rd Party SATA, FakeSMC Motherboard Plugin, IOUSB Family Rollback, USB 3.0 and Chimera. Unplug the kakewalk USB and Reboot.
Enjoy Snow Leopard.
