- Power Management = Turn it off... untested but expect kernel panic on the desktop = S.E.O.D. (scrambled eggs of death)
- My net card and video both loaded native. I do recommend highly, turn off onboard sound and network in the BIOS before installing. if you want to try after install, turn them back on one at a time. nic seems to lose its connect settings and smeggs. sound is weak but sound from 4 rear channels
- Install Notes= installed with ide- ide config. will install with bios SATA set to ide or ahci. the largest issue is a wrong driver will hang you out to dry for another 1+hour installation, and no.. dont load a driver off your old 10 5 6 dvd. toasted and reinstall from scratch. For those who have the "Still Waiting for Root Device" issue. this is it. turn off and remove what you dont need and dont load ANYTHING from the dvd that wont match exactly and is known to work. ie... dont install any drivers if you dont have to. I took alot of notes and this is pretty much where I arrived after several installs and attempted installs. AMD-VIA is a can do, 10 5 6 worked better, but is hard to get software for.
- At first reboot from installer TRY these bootflags
- "-v -x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000 ahcdisk=1 debug=8
- This probably isnt necessary, but arriving to the desktop in Safe is a nice way to finish the installer without any conflicts. then remove DVD and reboot, if it went well, you will see your desktop again in 2 minutes.

1. Had to patch dsdt.aml using DSDTSE to fix "CMOS Checksum Error" when computer was restarted; followed these instructions step-by-step: [30]
2. There's also an available DSDT patcher inside the System. Run this and Select the OS's that causes the CMOS checksum error. Select everything in the right column.

Can't Access Internet: you may find the LAN works but you can't access outside addresses (eg. browser can't find pages); this is a DNS issue - if you can ping 8.8.8.8 but can't ping google.com (or use your browser to go anywhere outside the local network), then it's DNS related. SOLUTION: upon startup (or whenever this occurs) go to console and type 'sudo killall mDNSResponder', then enter your password. This causes the DNS client service to restart. Within a couple of seconds, DNS should be working and all will be well, you'll be able to surf the net :)
- Optical Drive: working, my Lite-On iHAS-120 DVD burner works fine
- Shutdown/restart: works fine
- Sleep: haven't tested, presumed working
- Other kexts: you will need skge 0.2f from [32] and VoodooHDA, which is included with the SnowOSX 3.6A install, or you can get it from the net

No. Need LegacyHDA.kext or DSDT patching for audio (I use LegacyHDA). Need NVEnabler.kext with some bootloaders (latest Chameleon RC5 by Rekursor needn't it). With Cartri's BIOS runs smoothly without writing DSDT.aml and smbios.plist (but STILL NEEDS fakesmc.kext). Basically you need only LegacyHDA.kext, NVEnabler.kext and fakesmc.kext. Sleep works OOB for some users of Cartri's BIOS, but I got no luck.

Everything works in 32 and 64 bit.
- Audio: Realtek ALC888 works with LegacyHDA.kext and DSDT fix. Do not update to 10.6.3, sound will stop, the rest is ok, with blackosx' note on 10.6.3 kexts. Made 10.6.3 work 100% with new audio kext in /System/Library/Extensions

Then there was a problem:
After install on first boot, Mac would start the install wizard where you could type your name etc. But there was only the gray background and the cursor. I solved it by booting the hard drive in another AMD computer and made the install-wizard process there. Then it boots correctly.
Known bugs:
- Some graphic errors (may depend on the graphics card)
- Every sound output causes the Finder to restart itself (that might be the reason why the installer hasn't worked - because it wanted to play a sound and caused a Finder reset)

VGA adapter only works on one port and only on a fresh boot; it remains black when you come out of sleep. Dual DVI monitors work perfectly, however. I found that other installation methods caused the graphics fan to not work and the card to overheat quickly.

- Got it up and running in 10.6.0. Every update you will have to repatch. how to patch the file - edit the contents of info.plist in AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext by adding <string>pci14e4,4329</string> between strings ending 4328 & 432b
- This can be accomplished rather quickly through terminal, copy and paste
sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/
