HCL 10.7.5/Portables
|
This is a hardware compatibility list for portable computers. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying a portable computer. Don't forget to add how you got OSx86 running on your portable x86 computer, and to use proper English. Please see the discussion page for proper instructions on how to input your system specs. Also, please contribute to the HCL 10.7.5 page, which should list a more granular view of compatibility. If your computer isn't listed, you should try it if you have a SSE2 or higher processor. Use vanilla kernel if it is supported.
- ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work.
- Please add hardware into tables.
- This is for 10.7.5 builds only.
Please list your computers in alphabetical order by manufacturer (Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, etc)
For how to edit the Wiki, please see this thread. Thank you!

myHack method ,,, 1-create myHack USB ,,, 2-remove the extra folder from the USB ,,, 3-put the one in the link below (If U Have The Same Specs) ,,, (((unfortunately myHack chameleon boot-loader is a little old and has some problems loading GMA X3100 and some other kext so u'll have to replace the boot-loader on the USB with one newer )))
Follow this to replace the boot-loader ,,, 1-use chameleon wizard ,,, 2-choose ur USB stick from the choices below ,,, 3-choose update boot-loader ,,, 4-install chameleon boot-loader 2255 or 2263
5-open myHack app >> choose myFix >> choose ur myHack USB stick >> Full
in the process of installing OSX when myHack prompt u for the Extra folder choose (My Own) and then choose the one on ur myHack USB ,,, after u install OSX do NOT use the boot-loader on the Hard-disk that myHack installed it ,,, Use the USB boot-loader to boot into ur new OSX installation
My Extra Folder used in myHack USB and the OS partition (Use It If U Have The Same Specs) http://www.mediafire.com/?g0ha793cp4zy713

10.7.5 Retail method. Install is pretty straight forward. You need to turn off wifi/bluetooth in order to get past the Bluetooth Keyboard check. You'll need to pass "GraphicsEnabler=No" to chiameleon or boot will hang. If you get Graphics artifacting/ghosting, you'll need to boot with "cpus=1" and then install TSC Sync.
Patched DSDT according to guide here
SMBIOS = MacBook4,1,Black

- Install Method: iATKOS_L2 USB Installer - Copied file from dmg DVD with Carbon Copy Cloner and made bootable with Chameleon
- Installation: During custom installation choose AR9285 Wifi, AHCI Sata, Chameleon, Audio not necessary now, PS2 support, video already supported. After installation it boots normally. Copy in a directory all your kext (from /System/Library/Extensions) and your mach_kernel (/mach_kernel) or download "my pack" with all ready working kext for 10.7.5 and "mach_kernel"
- Upgrade: Upgrade all system with Combo Update (MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.5.dmg), now system won't boot; mach_kernel and a lot of new kexts is incompatible with this laptop. Replace saved mach_kernel. Replace all Extensions directory (from my package) or replace all kexts (except AppleRTC and Sandbox). If you use my pack you've all ready and working, otherwise you've to fight with old/new kext to make all working.
