Here is a how to for enabling advanced drives to boot from osx also: How I fixed my Rocketraid RAID10 with 4 (2tb) drives wd ears advanced format green's boot0 error I'm sure it works on other advanced format drives as well: All done without linux *requires a separate lion installation* boot into your seperate lion os open disk utility and unmount your lion raid partition run showallfiles and copy /usr/standalone/i386/boot1h to the root of your currently running os open terminal sudo su cd / ls (you should see boot1h in the dir) diskutil list dd if=boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2 (this is my disk partition find yours! using the diskutil list) I repeated the dd command 5 times just to be sure it "sticked". reboot and make sure your raid is the booting hard drive enjoy :)
