This is a component level hardware compatibility list. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying hardware. Add which parts you have working in the categories listed below, or create a new category. Please keep alphabetical order inside the categories. The categories themselves are ordered by popularity.   • Install Method: iPC OS 10.5.6 Final PPF5 and iDeneb 10.5.7 Combo Update. After the combo update you must start with voodoo or anv option. and from The Combo Update KIT you must start iDeneb.Tool.rev1.mpkg and select anv or voodoo from kernels to be the default kernel. That's it, you're done.
  • Kernel: Voodoo on 10.5.6, AnV XNU 1.4 Kernel on 10.5.7 but it works with Voodoo as well

If you have the 9.5.0 kernel you will need the Seatbelt.kext from 10.5.5 If you have the 9.6.0 kernel you will need the Seatbelt.kext from 10.5.6" iPC install contains 9.5.0 version, just add it at customize. Seatbelt.kext

Issues so far:

  • Only 1 CPU is active(CPUS=1 One Core Fix, some might need to start the install dvd with cpus=1 boot option)

Fix for 1 CPU issue: download a modified bios, [1] choose file 4CoreDual-SATA2 v2.10 After you flashed the bios, you can simply install it without the need of the cpus=1 One Core fix, and can use both(or more) cores of your cpu ;)

Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernel/AnV XNU 1.4 Kernel no

  • Audio: ALC662 using AppleHDA Patcher with this codec dump, Audio In/Out, Mic In, Digital out working, Frontpanel and digital in does not work
  • LAN: ViaRhineII work with this kext but is unstable
  • IDE: Works, SATA: Works, Disable 32bit Transfer for harddisk drives in the bios to fix stability issues

Voodoo 9.5.0+Seatbelt Patch or 9.7.0 Kernel+Seatbelt Patch IDE needs Patching after install!On Install you have to checked AppleGenericPCATA.kext to boot into MAC OS X. Other Driver dont work with MCP78s Chipset!!!
  • ATTENTION:The AppleGenericPCATA Driver works very slow on MCP78S IDE Device´s, this is a Bug in the AppleIOATAFamily.kext!DataDiskRate are around 5MB/s, this is to slow to work with.

-Here´s a Fix to solve this Bug:

  • 1. Download the Updated AppleIOATAFamily. kext from here[2] and replace it with the one in the System/ Library/ Extensionfolder.Reboot
  • 2. Download the AppleNForceATA.kext Driver, the untested One, from here[3], unzip and add the PATA/ IDE Device ID 0x075910de to PATA section in info.plist in the Contentsfolder
  • 3. Use KextHelper to install AppleNForceATA.kext and Reboot
  • After Reboot use -v flag to see if Driver is loadet. Is Driver successfully installed, it show you the new Chipset NVIDIA MCP78S(Geforce8200)"NForceATA found 1 Unit" or more, if you have more than one Device! This Fix, boost your DataDiskRate up to 33MB/s.  !!ATA 33!! It´s slow too, but useable!
  • Shutdown, Restart and Sleep works
  • VMWare causes in Kernel Panic if you have Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernel installed. Try 9.7.0 Kernel and rename the Custom_Kernel in Mach_kernel to run VMWare stable. You also have to rewrite the com.apple.boot.plist under Kernel <string>mach_kernel</string>


  • System boot´s up in 20 Seconds. With VMWare Fusion installed up to 40 Seconds!
  • if you get a black/white/black screen on bootup, you have to install the Radeon HD 3870 Installer for AMD Users from this [4], and this Package [5] from Triakis!

Video fully working using XFX 8800GT and matching EFI. PCI Cards: PCI wireless card fully working. Sleep, Shutdown, and Reboot: working 100% after moving USB|PS/2 5v. SleepEnabler.kext required to enable deep sleep mode. Install Method:

  • Installed iATKOS S3 V2 10.6.3 with all standard settings except unchecked all sound drivers.
  • Installed 10.6.6 combo update and before rebooting installed old USB kext
  • Rebooted, installed 10.6.7 update and rolled back USB drivers again using above method before reboot.
  • After 10.6.7 update; installed VoodooHDA 0.2.61 and sleepenabler.kext. Deleted AppleHPET.kext from system\library\extentions for USB to reach 2.0 speeds.

  • Video: Ati Radeon HD 2600 XT. Installed Ati HD. After installation, with osx86 tools,i installed the apropiate driver.
  • Core 2 Quad Q8200 2,33 Mhz Processor.
  • After installation on 10.5.7, one reboot was needed with -x -f.
  • LAN (Requires Attansic L1 driver).
  • USB Works fine.
  • Built-in audio works after installing AppleHDA.kext.
  • DVD Writer LG IDE works after installing AppleVIAATA_V2_P5QPRO_incl.kext.
  • Logitech EX110 & Gigabyte GM-M7600 works fine connected at usb.
  • 4 Gb DDR2 800 Kingston.

  • Need some patches (selectable during installation): Apple PS/2 driver, EFI String for nVidia and probably AHCI.
  • I've solved shutdown problem installing some extra patches: first AppleACPIPlatform.kext (but it did not work), then (without uninstalling AppleACPIPlatform.kext) I have touch Extensions folder (with OSX86 Tools) and after rebooting I've installed Psystar OpenHaltRestart_1.0.3.kext [8]

  • Install method: iDeneb(10.5.6). Then Software Update to 10.5.7
  • Video: Nvidia EN8400GS by NVInject.
  • Dual-Core Processor.
  • After installation on 10.5.6, one reboot was needed with flag cpus=1

  • You will be spending a lot of time using Osx86 tools to instal various Kext

    • VRAM problem, screen resolution works at 1600X900 but won't run at more then 1MB of VRAM on VGA
    • Won't function in triple boot, Chameleon won't coexist with GRUB. Have to use Boot 123 cd to boot into Leopard, might be due to cylinders on MBR

  • PS2 keyboard and/or mouse works with voodoo driver. (selected at customize screen while installing, in this case Voodoo PS/2 driver)
  • Vanilla Kernel works.
  • Shutdown and restart: no Needs OHR driver from Customize setup.
  • Sleeping: no, goes to sleep but does not wake-up.

  • Video GTX260: no, needs several drivers selected at installing. (GTX2xx Driver + Natit enabler + Nvidia string > In my case DVI-VGA) After that, it works with Quartz Extreme and Core Image.

UPDATE: Just backup the extensions folder and kernel (just in case); Donwload and run the apple update and voilá! For me, working without restore any of kext.

  • Install Method: iAtkos v7 10.5.7
  • Vanilla kernel - it installs when none of listed kernels is selected
  • Video NVidia GeForce 8500Gt 512Mb Sparkle. QE/CI works - select OldEnablers -> NVKush during install
  • AD1988B Audio: stereo works, microphone does not, Taruga does not help
  • Marvell 88E8056 LAN: works at 100baseTX - selected driver during install
  • Realtek RTL8110SC LAN: works at 100baseTX - selected driver during install
  • Onboard WiFi: did not try because have WiFi on the router
  • ICH9R SATA: works only in AHCI mode (selected AHCI driver during install), but I managed to change XP to AHCI mode without reinstall
  • Jmicron PATA: works - have two IDE writers LiteOn and Pioneer 116D, both work with burning folders - selected JMicron driver during install
  • USB: Works out of the box - no drivers needed
  • Boot: Chameleon v2
  • Apple update - did not try
  • Speedstep installed, but do not know if it works - C2D monitor app doesn't recognize the CPU.
  • mobo runs at 444Mhz instead of 333MHz thus making 1776 FSB and 3.56GHz CPU E8200 - no overclocking issues with OSX

The computer did not make it through the first reboot (it restarted before it got to the splash screen). Then the bios did not properly identify my SATA drives. Restarted one more time and everything was fine.

Yes Using default 9.7.0 kernel. Sleep and reboot work need the OHR patch. The internal hard disk icons on desktop become those orange ones for external devices, after reinstalling Windows XP in AHCI mode, pretty annoying but no harm apparently, the fix seems to reinstall the AHCI kext but not tested yet.

Once I had 10.5.7 installed I managed to upgrade to 10.5.8 using the iDeneb combo update, but had to turn AHCI on to reboot ("still waiting error otherwise). Also needed to re-install audio after the 10.5.8 update.

(UPDATE) I had a few problems getting dual monitors to work, and so I spent some time (as you do with Hackintosh) looking for a solution. Was pointed to this website and it is GOLD! [72]. I downloaded the NV GT(X) 2xx Series and installed the enabler Nvidia and ATi. Now have dual display. (for advice please email: [email protected]).

  • Before rebooting, I reinstalled the appleintelintegratedframebuffer kext using System/Installation/Packages/Patches/GMA950_appleintelintegratedframebuffer.pkg from the Kalyway 10.5.2 CD.
  • Otherwise I got a blue screen on reboot with any of the 3 kernel choices on iDeneb upgrade. The iDeneb upgrade should include this package to simplify upgrades for us GMA 950 folk.
  • During your Kalyway 10.5.2 installation make sure to pick the Intel 950 driver in custom options, otherwise you will get the same blue screen treatment.
  • Works great with integrated drivers from iAtkos V7
