This is a component level hardware compatibility list. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying hardware. Add which parts you have working in the categories listed below, or create a new category. Please keep alphabetical order inside the categories. The categories themselves are ordered by popularity. Please list any caveats or problems as well.

  • Fully working except for Sleep - someone will probably get it working at some point.
  • Is 100% stable under 32bit and 64bit mode.
  • Tested with Q6600, GTX260.
  • USB works.

  • Ethernet works.
  • Use patched bios juzzi style, I recommend 2102. **WILL NOT BE STABLE WITHOUT PATCHED BIOS**
  • Firewire - no idea; does anyone even use firewire anymore?
  • Shutdown/Restart works all the time (except if you have pressed or mucked about with sleep).
  • Install method - Ian T P5Q guide, link opposite.
  • Installed from restored disk image partition on HDD. No previous installation is required, all you need is a distro which you can get to boot so you can use disk utility. iDeneb 1.5.8 lite works well.
  • Install 10.6.0 via guide --> update to 10.6.4 from disk image --> install ethernet kext --> any other updates via software update.
  • edit com.apple.plist kernal flag to -pci0 only to boot in 64bit mode.
  • Blazing fast on SSD.

4. Use Kext Utility 2.3.2 (2.4.2 is baggy, at least after 2.4.2 i couldn't boot up; if you receive the messages that kexts are installed improperly - it's fine, just repair the permissions after all kexts are installed)

6. Update your system using "Software Update" to 10.6.4
