*Upgrade to OS X 10.4.6

*Backup your files on both OS X and Windows partitions
*Download the [http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/firmwarerestorationcdv10.html Firmware Restoration CD 1.0] or [http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macbookprointelfirmwareupdate10.html Firmware Update CD 1.0] (unconfirmed which one is required, try both)

*Boot into your OS X install disc and use Disk Utility to reformat your entire hard drive
*If it fails to remove XOM, reformat your Macintosh hard disk using Disk Utility on the OS X Install Disc

*Repeat the firmware upgrade/restore process, and reinstall OS X 10.4.6

*Follow the Boot Camp instructions to create your Windows XP driver CD and upgrade your firmware

In order to move to Apple's new Boot Camp Windows installation platform, you must first remove the 'XOM' solution. Follow these steps to get your Mac ready for Boot Camp:

  • Backup your files on both OS X and Windows partitions
  • Boot into your OS X install disc and use Disk Utility to reformat your entire hard drive
  • Install OS X again
  • Update OS X to 10.4.6
  • Make sure your firmware is updating by downloading the Firmware Update CD 1.0, burning it, and booting with it.
  • Download Boot Camp, and follow the instructions to install XP
  • Enjoy!
